Outfielder Corey Dickerson was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday, after breaking two ribs diving for a ball in left field, in the fifth inning of Thursday night’s loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. It is the third trip to the disabled list of 2015 for the oft-injured outfielder, who has also battled plantar fasciitis this season.
Dickerson, who is hitting .315 over 146 at-bats, took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the injury.

The Rockies also placed right-handed starter Kyle Kendrick on the 15-day disabled list. Kendrick had to exit after one inning Friday because of right shoulder inflammation. Kendrick, who entered the game at 4-11 with a 6.37 ERA, gave up a leadoff home run and left the game with a 2-0 deficit. His injury opens the door for top prospect Jon Gray to make his Major League debut Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners.
The Rockies also recalled right-hander Scott Oberg and outfielder Kyle Parker from Albuquerque before Saturday’s game at St. Louis, while left-hander Aaron Laffey was designated for assignment. Parker is hitting .280 in 93 games in Triple-A. Oberg has pitched 33.0 innings for the Rockies in 2015 already, and holds a 6.00 ERA.
The Rockies start a three-game series, against the Mariners, beginning Monday at 6:40 p.m. MDT with Felix Hernandez and Eddie Butler on the mound. Gray is scheduled to make his Major League debut on Tuesday.
