Even though Denver Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw was ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, he made a significant step forward that could have him ready for next week’s game.

Evan Engram off of Denver Broncos injury report

Despite exiting last week’s game against the Tennessee Titans with a calf injury, Evan Engram was a full participant in Thursday and Friday’s practice and is good to go, with him being removed from the injury report entirely.

Against the Indianapolis Colts this week, the hope is that Engram can be utilized more this week than he was last week in his Broncos debut.

Joining him coming off the injury report are defensive end John Franklin-Myers (knee) and inside linebacker Alex Singleton (thumb), and they’ll play without limitations.

Tight end/fullback Nate Adkins was a limited participant in back-to-back days on  Thursday and Friday, which was an upgrade from last week’s practice status, and he could potentially return next week against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Now, let’s get to Dre Greenlaw. He was a DNP all of last week and for two days this week, but on Friday, he upgraded to being a limited participant, which means he participated in team stretch and individual position drills.

Even though he’ll be out on Sunday against the Colts, it is a sign of his ramp-up period beginning, and there’s a chance he could play next week against the Chargers, but we haven’t crossed that bridge just yet.

Let’s be clear with expectations. He could even be a limited participant next week and still not go for the Chargers game, and that could be by design if the Broncos want to build up acclimation in practices for Greenlaw, which could see his best-case scenario be a debut in Week 4 on Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Broncos fans have been frustrated that Greenlaw hasn’t debuted yet, but he’s been working hard behind the scenes to play, and nobody has been more frustrated about not being on the field than he has.
