Washington State downed Colorado, 28-0, Saturday night in the Palouse. WSU starting quarterback Luke Falk (17-of-34, 197 yards and 3 TD) set two Pac-12 records in the contest: Total offense (1,824, USC’s Carson Palmer) and pass attempts (1,838, OSU’s Sean Mannion). Falk also became the winningest QB in Washington State history (25 wins).
Colorado sophomore Steven Montez struggled through the worst start of his young career, going 4-for-13 and just 21-yard first half that saw him benched at halftime. Redshirt freshman Sam Noyer came on in the second half, but was only slightly better — 7-for-18 for 53 yards. Neither were able to get the Buffs into the end zone, producing CU’s first shutout loss since 2012 (48-0 vs. Stanford).
